1. Put your photos to good use
Don’t let all your photos sit tucked away in a box. Put them on display by taping them up on the wall. You can space them out evenly across a wall, stick to a more geometric shape, or go a bit avant garde with your display.
2. Use frames
If you’re a poster or print collector, you can elevate your collection with inexpensive frames. You can spray paint the frames to coordinate them, or simply leave them as they are for a more hodgepodge gallery on your bedroom wall.
3. Light it up
Repurpose your Christmas lights, or purchase your own fairy lights, and string them up on your wall with pushpins. They’ll offer a warm glow, day or night.
4. Don’t be afraid of washi tape
Super inexpensive and cute, washi tape can be used to take a wall of posters and photos from nice to awesome. Use them as frames, or even create your own patterns to make a mural. You can use washi tape to write out messages as well.
5. Hang tapestry
Choose a beautiful blanket, sheet, or rug to hang up in your bedroom for a quick and easy tapestry. You can even repurpose an old bed sheet to be a tapestry by tie-dying or hand painting it with your favorite design.
6. Get the hook up
No drills are required for this easy way to decorate and store your accessories at the same time. Apply adhesive hooks to your wall and hang up your favorite hats, necklaces, or scarves.
7. String along your memories
Use pushpins to string twine across your walls. With clothes pins, clip up photos, concert tickets, or postcards. You can even paint the clothes pins to complement the color of your wall.
8. Get crafty with construction paper
If you love crafting, construction paper decorating is for you. Cut out medium-sized circles to make wall confetti, or cut out several different shapes for a more abstract look. You can also choose your favorite color sheets and tape them on the wall evenly spaced out, no cutting required!
9. Mirror, mirror
A large mirror on the wall will open up and brighten even the smallest and darkest room. Instead of splurging on a large mirror from a furniture store, keep an eye out for mirrors with wood frames at yard sales and thrift stores. You can repaint them any color you wish to complement your room.
10. Put everything on a corkboard
Keep all your memories central on a cork board above your desk or as a headboard for your bed.
